New improvements to the Better Access Map
The COVID-19 pandemic may have stopped our team from visiting venues and adding more accessible places to the Better Access Map, but it hasn’t stopped us from making some pretty awesome improvements (In our humble opinion) and adding some snazzy new features to the app and website!
#1 Improved layout to our Accessibility Profiles
The Accessibility Profiles themselves are now simpler to use and more clearly laid out. Information can be expanded and collapsed based on the specific detail you need and there is no need to scroll through details that are not relevant to you. If you are only looking for information on the Accessible Toilet, simply expand the Accessible Toilet section to find the information and images you want.
#2 New “Home Delivery” Search Preference
We have added a “Home Delivery” option to our Access at a Glance search preferences so you can easily find places that will deliver goods and services to you. The COVID-19 pandemic has us all spending more time at home than ever before. With this comes increased demand for home delivery services. Use the “Home Delivery” search preference to find businesses delivering everything from scripts and groceries to gourmet meals and gifts.
#3 You can now let us know when our profiles need to be updated
Ever noticed that a venue on the Better Access Map has renovated since our visit or added new accessibility features? A newly introduced “Suggest a Change” button at the top of every profile allows you to let us know if an Accessibility Profile needs reviewing. If we need any further info, we will get in contact with you to find out more. This will help us to make sure our information is as up to date and relevant as possible.
In the spirit of change, we are also looking at other ways we can improve and we want to hear from you, our users, about how we can best provide accurate, relevant and easy-to-use information to “take the guesswork out of going out.” Our survey “Accessibility: What I need to know” lets you have a say in what accessibility information is important to you and how you want to receive it. By completing the survey, you go in the draw to WIN 1 of 3 $100 Visa cards. You can find the survey here.
The Survey and associated competition closes at 5.00pm AEDT on Friday 31st July 2020. To enter the draw you must be 18 years of age or over and reside in Australia. For more information about T&C's contact us.
